Derek is one of the original members of Laden Vain.  He  began working to create this type of organization in 1992.  Through the years there has been lots of member problems that have hurt the organization, but he will not stop until he can no longer perform.

The changes in the organization are really too many to mention, but they never discouraged Derek. He continues to play, promote, and produce the "Power Groove" style of music that the group has expressed and fails to change his vision of what people should get when you go to see a musical act perform.  He has a wife, Renee, and a daughter, Jalen.  

He holds a "Bachelor of Science" degree in computer science from LSU-Shreveport and is currently head computer programmer for "The Harrison Company" in Bossier City, Louisiana.
